We currently have 15 paid Summer Internship positions open for young people ages 14-19 in Roxbury & Boston!

In Summer 2022 at RYP, interns will learn about design as a tool for social change. Interns will attend art walks, museums, and tours of public art in Roxbury and Boston, and engage with art through a lens of local history and community activism. Interns will learn graphic design skills on Adobe and get to design their own logo in partnership with a branding agency. Their final project will be to design and host a Community Event that showcases art through a lens of history and social justice in Roxbury.

In this webinar we will cover

Leadership

Our goal at RYP is to create pathways for success & youth power. Our programs provide young people with the resources they need to lead in their own ideas and projects. The end-of-program event is entirely youth-led and youth-organized.

Creative Skills

Interns learn photography, design, and other relevant 21st century digital skills during their internship. Every internship focuses on a creative skill that young people get to hone and use in hosting their end-of-program community event.

Placemaking

As an organization based in Roxbury, honoring our community and its powerful history of organizing & activism informs everything we do. Interns work & volunteer in their community, and learn about the deep history that informs who we are today.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Our online application opens March 30, 2022.
Our Summer 2022 Information Session will take place via Zoom on April 19, 2022 at 5pm.
Interns will be interviewed & hired on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. It is encouraged that you submit your application as soon as possible to be considered as we have limited spots available.
