About the Event

Roxbury is noted as one of the most abundant areas in Massachusetts for public art. This is partially due to the work of Kai and Chris Grant and the Nubian Square Public Arts Initiative, the volunteer-led Boston Arts Commission and private investments by artists, businesses and non-profit agencies.

This tour will focus on public art along Washington Street in the Nubian Square area with featured stops at The General Gourdin and African American Veterans Memorial, The Bruce Bolling Building, Black Market, murals on Shawmut Ave (optional), and along the way down Malcolm X Blvd, ending back at the UU Urban Ministry.
