Roxbury Youth Programs

Roxbury Youth Program (RYP) is a comprehensive after-school program serving approximately 50 at-risk middle and high school students. RYP offers opportunities for youth to improve their academic, interpersonal and leadership skills while empowering them to be leaders in their families, schools and communities.

Students in RYP have many resources available to them, including:
  • Volunteer tutors that provide help with homework
  • SAT classes and college preparation
  • Computer lab
  • Nearby gym space
  • Transportation home on the UU Urban Ministry bus
  • Hot Dinner
  • Funderburg Scholars
Funderburg Scholars rewards students for their personal and academic achievements with points called “scholar dollars.” These dollars can be applied towards the purchase of school supplies, books, and even college tuition.
