Partners in FaithA gathering of social service providers, clergy, academics and people of faith united in working together to respond to those affected by domestic violence/abuse and sexual assault around issues of faith and spirituality
Partners in Faith brings together the multiplicity of people involved in the domestic violence/abuse and sexual assault field, serving as a forum for discussing best practices for working with survivors of domestic violence who want to discuss issues of faith or spirituality.
By acknowledging that faith plays a role in the lives of many domestic violence/abuse survivors as well as batterers/abusers, those working in this field are able to work more effectively with the whole person. Thus, we believe, it is necessary for faith communities and social service providers to work collaboratively to serve women, men and children who come to us for support and services.
Partners in Faith has been meeting for the past 6 months and we are interested in recruiting more people to join us in this effort. We are interested in building up our ecumenical/interfaith core and we welcome people of all faiths as well as those interested in this effort.
Please contact Rev. Susan Chorley If you are unable to attend but are interested in this effort at 617-277-4194 or schorley@uuum.org. |
