Because “helping hands come from grateful hearts” we know there are many thankful people here at the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry! We offer volunteer engagement opportunities that range from one-time-only event help to ongoing weekly commitments. Likewise, we have opportunities for individuals as well as for congregational groups. In fact, follow this link for a list of Ways You or Your Congregation Can Become Involved with the UU Urban Ministry.
How Do I Become A Volunteer?
Please consider how YOU fit within this dynamic ministry by reading about our programs and services here on our website. Then choose among the many current openings for service listed on our Volunteer Opportunities page. When you know how you’d like to volunteer your time, fill out our Volunteer Application. Someone from the Office of Congregational & Volunteer Engagement will contact you to set up an interview and collect your CORI application.
A committed UU Urban Ministry Volunteer is someone who:
- Believes in and supports our mission of uniting communities and transforming lives through direct service and advocacy.
- Enhances and extends the ability of our organization to provide services.
- Embraces a model of support based on solidarity rather than charity.
