Fair Foods is a non-profit food rescue organization dedicated to providing surplus produce at low or no cost to those in need. We serve as a site for this work on Saturday mornings from 10:30 am – 2 pm. We are always in need of individuals or groups to help sort and distribute the food, help with deliveries, and much more. For more background click here.
Throughout the year, the UU Urban Ministry hosts events such as Community Suppers (normally on the 2nd Tuesday of each month), lecture series, community engagement events, and events and celebrations for our program participants. Helping hands are needed for set-up, clean-up, managing activities, and serving meals and refreshments. Donations for beverages and pastries are welcome.
Please contact Marvin Venay, Director of Congregational and Volunteer Engagement, at engagement @ uuum.org for more information about any volunteer activity or to get involved.
